so much for the resolution. so i took a few days off. work has been wearing me out, which is lame because it isn't even that hard. anyway, not much exciting has happened but i'm blogging this for my records(yeesh, sounds like something my mom would say) since i've spent a lot of time the past few days thinking about what i'm going to do when i graduate.
so i've been subbing a lot. i had a math class on wednesday. i ate first lunch with my mom which was great, except for the fact that the class i was teaching eats on third lunch. i came back from lunch early, expecting to have some time to figure out lesson plans, etc, only to find a class full of kids, oh yeah, and they had sent a kid up to the office to find me. sweet.
yesterday i had study hall which was a lot better than i thought it would be. since it isn't a real class we just kind of hung out.
being at the school the last two weeks has been a blast. it's a job i actually like....not just because it's easy or i'm getting paid. truth be told, it's not always easy -- i hate when i have to write kids up or when they make me crazy and i fuss at them. it makes me feel so ... not cool. but for the most part the kids are great and i love working in the school environment.
i am thinking about getting a provisional teaching license. a friend of mine has one and will start teaching special ed in the fall. basicly, it allows you to teach in loudoun county (if anyone will hire you, and they do sometimes) and you have three years to complete the classes required to obtain a virginia teaching license.
schools in loudoun county have recently added AP psychology and sociology (in addition to semester psy and soc classes). i would qualify to teach both if i had a provisional license.
it is so wierd to actually want to move back to leesburg and be a teacher, just like my parents. for so long i said i would not teach and i would not move back to leesburg after graduation. now i am about to do both, and almost stoked about it. there is a cute little house dowtown for rent and i think about how fun it would be to live there. two bedroom, carport, yellow, right on the main drag with a cute front porch. all i need is a roommate. any takers?
well, my free block is almost over, better stop sneaking onto the internet before the computer tech guy comes by and yells at me.
